“I was the Charter Vice President of Na Hoaloha ‘Ainahou (the Friends of ‘Ainahou), the non-profit which later became the Friends of Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park.  ‘Ainahou is a historic ranch located within Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park.  In 1995, through the efforts of the Friends’ founding volunteers, the ‘Ainahou Ranch House and its grounds were listed on the National Register of Historic Places.  Today, I continue to volunteer my time to preserve ‘Ainahou, and I am a lifetime member of Friends of Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park.”
