“I joined the Friends of Hawai‘i Volcanoes National Park at their July 4^th Silent Auction in 2006.  I have been volunteering since then—as the opportunities arise and as I’m able.  I also enjoy volunteering at ‘Imiloa Astronomy Center.  Retirement is great, and retirement in Hawai‘i is even better.  Both the Friends and ‘Imiloa have given me an opportunity to understand and learn the islands’ nature, history, culture, and customs—with no end in sight.”
