“I had read about the Friends’ volunteer opportunities in the paper and finally committed to attend the 2008 annual meeting.  I have been a member and volunteer ever since.  I usually volunteer to staff the Friends booth at the park’s annual cultural festival and to help out on National Public Lands Day and other fee-free days by standing at the park entrance stations educating visitors about the Friends and asking for donations.  I also serve as the Volunteer Coordinator for the Friends of Hawai‘i Volcanoes National Park.”
