Hawaiians learned the basic method of kuiki (quilting) after the missionaries arrived in the early 1800s. As the art evolved, so did the patterns which were inspired by birds, plants and shadows on the ground. Join Cyndy Martinez as she shares her expertise in the beautiful art known as kapa kuiki, Hawaiian quilting.
